Envelope System
By admin | August 6, 2008
I had the privilege of having a financial sit-down with an extremely bright upperclassmen college student yesterday. I always love getting to look at people’s individual personal finances because it is always so interesting to see where people are and the advice that I give is usually so different depending on the person. One thing I realized while talking to him was that a system like the envelope system might be beneficial to implement in his life.
Later that night I thought it would be a good idea to find a video tutorial on the envelope system. So I went to the dreaded you tube and found this little number.
While, this video makes clear what the envelope system is, I would be lying if I said it was entertaining (I apologize to whoever did it, because I do appreciate the effort of putting it up). However, I sometimes feel I am in the “entertainment” business. A definition of entertainment is to hold one’s attention for a certain period of time.
So if I really believe this stuff matters then entertaining is important (you have to have people’s attention). I now have the bright idea to make my own creative/funny/easy to understand video regarding the envelope system. All I need to do now is find a camera…
In the meantime check this video out to see exactly what the envelope system is:
If you have any thoughts on other helpful things that would be good to have tutorial’s on e-mail me at chriskakarasblog@gmail.com.
