I Got Cocky

Last evening I came home to wifey playing the nintendo wii in the living room. We just got a couple new games (stuff that she likes to play) rather than the fun stuff that I normally play (NCAA Football 2009). This was a nice change, I am usually the video game connoisseur in our family so I support wifey wanting to have a little wii action.
Regardless, since the tv was occupied and I didn’t want to go in another room I was forced to see if there was any amusement of my liking on the internet (why don’t I just read a book, I know). I quickly run out of things to do on the internet so I went to one last stop. www.blackfriday.info
And to my amazement…the ads are POSTED! Woo Hoo. You have to understand what this means. I have my playbook! Best Buy, Circuit City, Staples, Target, etc…all updated. I have one FULL week to plan for the big matchup of the year. Me vs The Stores…spoiler alert, I will win. I just need to figure out how.
This is my attitude when it comes to Black Friday. In fact, I started making predictions to people. In my head I was walking away with a 42” LCD HDTV for $699. I was picking up a GPS for $49.99. Wifey is in need of a laptop and we were going to get one for $299.99.
To my amazement, I did not find any products to resemble this pricing. I found some that were close, but no cigar.
It turns out that Black Friday 2008 is not going to be as easy as expected. I will offer full disclosure here of what my results are so you will witness first hand if I accomplish close to my goals.
Saved up from the wedding we have $1500+ to make it happen. There are a many odds and ends that we always end up going with (I’m a sucker for $3.99 DVDs) so we will see. All I know is…
I LOVE this time of year.
