Life Rules: 2 Concepts to Live By
By admin | October 30, 2007
If you want to be financially free and want peace in your finances all you have to do is adopt 2 concepts. I am flat out saying if you do these 2 simple principles you will succeed with your finances and be able to lead your family worry free from money.
Life Rule #1: If you cannot pay for something, DO NOT GET IT!
Life Rule #2: Spend LESS than you MAKE!
Both of these “Life Rules” are simple concepts that most people in America cannot grasp. All of our lives we see commercials saying you can get whatever you want RIGHT NOW.
Where did we get the idea that this concept was okay? It actually sounds more immature than anything else. “I want it now so I’m gonna get it regardless if I can pay for it or not.”
It is no wonder that more people will declare bankruptcy this year than graduate from college. Pretty much whatever American Culture is telling us to do, I want to do and teach the opposite. The average Japanese family saves 18.1% of their household income, where the typical US family saves a NEGATIVE 2.2%. Yeah that is negative, meaning debt!
If you put these 2 principles in your life and put your decisions through this grid you will be better off.
Side Note: If you are a Christ Follower scripture actually teaches you to be content no-matter what your financial condition is.
Hebrews 13:5 “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have.”
It is incredibly biblical not to be consumed with with what you don’t have and be content with what you do have. The “want” monster is a bottomless pit. If you keep feeding it, it will still want more and when you end up getting in debt for it, it will not take long for you to find yourself in a sticky situation.
