Weekend of Champions - Success
By admin | February 23, 2009
This weekend wifey and I traveled to Charlotte to have a romantic weekend getaway. And it was exactly what we needed.
As I said last week here we were trying to live it up with as little money necessary as possible. And I will say we somewhat succeeded; could have done better but no complaints.
We ended up:
- Sitting 3 rows from the court at a Bobcats/Orlando Magic NBA Game (Ebayed tickets - great deal)
- Ate delicious cheesecake factory (which for what you get is a phenominal deal)
- Stayed at one of the nicest hotels in Charlotte and got a major discount by going through hotwire.com (kinda risky because you are unsure what you will get but we lucked out)
- Purchased cheap tickets for the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra (no need to sit up close it sounds all the same right?)
All in all, the weekend was absolutely worth it.
We spent about $350 (including hotel) for the weekend away, which wasn’t bad considering all we got to experience.
Oh and not to mention we got to visit the new IKEA in Charlotte which was a mad house. It was cool seeing it and they did not even charge for admission…
